Tales from Toddler Hood helps parents with all things toddler! I hope to share some fun activities and advice. Not only have I been so blessed to have wonderful parents of my own, but I have been fortunate to have learned a lot along my parenthood journey and from some wonderful parents, educators and experts along the way!
Sponsored by my Company Potty Tots!
My name is Jill, I am a mom of three and a teacher. I created the Potty Tots Potty Training Program to train my third child who was having a hard time learning to go potty. Being a teacher, I knew I needed to have visuals to show her what I wanted her to do.
When I tried to find a potty chart that showed the six steps of potty training with a little girl that looked like my daughter, (we adopted her from China) I realized not only was there no chart to show the steps, but there were no charts with children of color. So I made a potty chart with the 6 -basic steps to potty training. I made the cartoon character to look just like her. She loved it! She could identify with the little character AND she felt good about herself when she could follow the steps and do it “all by herself!” I made potty charts for family and friends with little ones that needed help potty training. That was the “ah-ha” moment for me. I decided to create an entire program for potty training and make it with a diverse group of toddlers and called them the Potty Tots. With that the Potty Tots Potty Training Program was born! Our Motto is ,”I can do it all by myself!” Toddlers all over the world are singing our songs and having fun with this first little task in taking care of themselves!
